  • i think if you wanna give gray a winnable but still challenging fight it would be lauzon. i wasnt on the melvin hype train but it is a good win and gray could use that fight to test his standup and his jj defense. Aldo vs mendes does make sense but i wasnt too impressed with mendes last outing with yahya. Yahya was able to basically keep mendes in the gaurd and i think aldo has better takedown defense that yahya. I dont think Gilbert is as good as people say.

  • @elan1mal7 I think the UFC want to give Gray a fairly long road back to the title and Volkmann is just such a perfect rebound fight for him. Lauzon probably gets someone down the ladder like I mentioned Diaz or Wiman. As for Mendes/Aldo, I just think it's time Aldo gets tested by an elite wrestler. Styles make fights. He was taken down by Kenny and Hominick. Also think Gilbert is just a better, bigger, and more well rounded version of Edgar.

  • I agree. I'm done with Leonad Garcia. Same with Beltran too.

If Aldo beats Mendes, I think that division is going to be pretty stale.

  • @djt8928 I don't know about stale. I think Hioki will be a title challenger, that's a fight I want to see. Also got Tyson Griffin, Erik Koch, and Dustin Poirier if they keep winning.

  • @EBWReturns Yeah, maybe its not as dismal as I made it out to be. I'm probably not giving Koch enough credit, because he already lost to Mendes, but otherwise he has looked good. Poirier also is a standout. I still get the feeling that 145 is quickly turning into 170 and 185 where its "take a number, lose and get to the back of the line".

Less Enthusiastic about Tyson. I think he was borderline "getting cut" before he dropped to 145.

  • @djt8928 It looked like that on paper, but the Nik Lentz fight was a complete rip-off and one of the worst decisions ever (that no one seems to remember).

And I don't know what Florian can do at 145 in terms of countering, a huge thing he had at 155 was handspeed, the fact is good strikers at 45 are faster than him

  • @KneebarBuffet

You had to mention Minowaman... :P

KenFlo/Sherk would be fun this time around again, as for Belfort/Stann, Belfort >>>>> Stann.

  • Damn... where you been?
