This is my coworker Kari shooting a .38 specials out of my Rossi Revolver. This girl was born to shoot! This is her 2nd cyllinder through this gun and 1st day shooting. It boggles my mind how quickly she got the hang of it.
NOTE: I say "are you even hitting anything" because I'm too focused on her to notice all the dust coming up from RIGHT behind the bottle.
INCREDIBLE WOMAN!
Yeah, like I said. The reason that that gun kicks more than the .357 is because it's a tiny snub-nosed pistol.

Yeah but the weight of the gun doesn't LOOK much heavier. Perhaps it is but just a couple extra inches of barrel shouldn't cause that. However a longer barrel means the bullet has a longer journey before it can escape and release all the burning gasses behind it. The general rule is longer barrel=more recoil and sound.
But yeah perhaps mine is too light... I think it's like 2 or 3 lbs or something like that.

@SpitRhyma Shorter barrel = more sound and more kick... Get a clue..

@emtffzartman by the way they now make these ultra light weight .38 rugers (retarded light) and they supposively fire with virtually no recoil. They are a good bit shorter than mine but just shaped diff. for better ergonomics. The handle isn't so much under the gun but behind the gun so the recoil kicks back and not upward.

@airsoftdude1990 actually after watching a video of myself shooting my 38 it doesn't look like there's that much recoil with the short barrel either. The recoil is the same. The reason the 357 doesn't kick much in that video may be because they are shooting 38 specials out of it or just ergonomics. The extra 2 inches of barrel certainly helps hold the muzzle down. But for the most part the recoil just feels like a lot since it's a revolver.
