@dig6dog Nah. Read about it... in Ancient Rome, they used ricotta-like cheese, honey, and flour to make cheesecake. It was traditionally made into loaves, and some recipes even called for bay leaves.
Italian-style cheesecake uses ricotta or mascarpone, sugar, vanilla extract, and sometimes barley flakes. It's usually drier than American cheesecake.
I have friends from Italy, that's how I know this.
