@lockerguide951 The studio after the sneak previews in San Diego and Denver went into meltdown, they pushed for a voice over which they then said HF sounded like he was drugged doing, and they wanted a happy ending as the sneaks had indicated people were confused by the abruptness of the elevator doors shot closing the film

@Casarzino Actually, this shots are discards from The Shining. They were added by the studio since they wanted a "happy ending". Ridley Scott removed them in his "director's" and "final" cut.
