  • Those of us who have been through tragedy and had nothing to hang on to but God, Himself, and found Him faithful to always be there revealing His love and His mercy understand this.

  • @Kingkalty : Hi ! I'd be grateful if you told me a bit more about the Bible turning you to an atheist...

I have read it several times, I keep being amazed by verses I thought I knew, but in which I discover a new hidden level... always like new... so often answering inner thoughts and confusion... please , will you share what has inspired you to lay it down ?

In the meanwhile I'll bless you in his holy name (I hope you don't mind :-))

  • Dear Friends, When we are feeling low and depressed there is no better

way to cheer ourselves up, than to count our many blessings. After all; Know therefore that the Lord your

God is God; He is the faithful God, keeping His

Covenant of love to a thousand generations

of those who love Him and keep His commands.

( Deuteronomy 7:9 ) Therefore; He will love you

    and bless you. ( Deuteronomy 7:13 )

  • This is very meaningful to me right now. I have supernatural peace in the midst of pain. I called on all of the resources of heaven to minister to me :) Jesus alone can meet our needs. He is so good!!!! I love my Saviour.

  • But when that tragedy comes, we can trust that God will always be there. He uses our times of sorrow in this life to reveal Himself to us; his love for us, His mercies, and His faithfulness. His purpose for us is not a life free of pain and suffering. His purpose for us is to know Him, become more like Him, and to glorify Him. That can be a hard concept for many to understand. But it is what we were made for. It is what sustains us. It is life to us! Continued...

  • Life is full of suffering... God is not there to dispel the suffering. May all the Christians out there know that suffering is not seen by God the same way it is seen by man. Jesus suffered tremendous pain and loss on the cross of Calvary,. Yet out of his suffering came forgiveness, redemption, hope and glory. We can now have a relationship with the God of the universe, and we have an ever present help in our time of need. That doesn't mean we won't meet with tragedy. Continued ...

  • This was our sermon this morning awesome and Satan sent a centipede to interrupt the sermon

  • It is well with my soul!

  • @furpurr Then after composing the music for Spafford's hymn, Phillip Bliss who composed the music, died in a tragic train accident....

By the way, how could the Spaffords afford a vacation in Europe after losing their life savings in the Chicago Fire? just curious...

  • @furpurr ...In spite of their tragedy, in 1881 the Spaffords moved to Jerusalem to meet the needs of the people. Through their service the Spaffords were able to share Christ with the local Muslim & Jewish communities.

There you go!! All at once...more or less... ;)
