A Rat Who Thinks She Is A Dog

My pet rat Lola thinks she is a dog. She chases her own tail!! XD

For the sake of everyone asking, She couldn't be kept with another female. She had a unremovable tumor. Her past cage mate died at a young age and every other female I would try her with would literally try and chew the tumor off. We would have to bring her to the vet numerous times to stop the bleeding.
She just recently died at age 3 from her tumor attatching to her lungs. She died the night before we had set to have her put down.
And for all of you people saying that she is bored, I took her out everyday and she had numerous toys but at the time I took this video, I was just begining to clean her cage and her toys were being washed; hence there being so little bedding on one side of the cage, it had already been taken out and put into a bag. :P

If you want to keep calling me a bad rat owner for not letting another rat chew her up OR taking care of her the best I can instead of letting her become snake food then you go right ahead and see where it gets you. I have many rats, all being kept with buddies. This was an issue that required her to be alone. She had tons of attention outside her cage, I even let her visit some of my other females under supervision. If she was bored then she was bored this once because she never did this again and I've never had another rat chase it's tail either.

Its actually a maternal behaviour. The rat, when she sees the tail, stimulates a retrieving behaviour as if the tail is a baby. It might be related to a false pregnancy or your rat was pregnant :o

Actually, from what I read, a rat carrying it's tail (female of course) is said to do it out of maternal instinct or act or whatever you want to call it.
