The original Magic Flute was created for a small theater in Vienna, and thus is a Singspiel, or musical play. In keeping with this, the Comic Opera Guilds Thomas Petiet crafted a translation that is both less grandiose than many operatic versions and sings well. This 1992 video was shot in a small theater for an audience of adults and children. The same show worked as well for adult audiences on tour later in its run. In the 2ND Act, Pamina (Bonnie Kidd) is dissuaded from killing Sarastro by the Three Spirits (Lynn Bishop, Beth MacNee, Eileen Stawiski).
