After dissolving the Organ-izers, Odell Brown recorded Free Delivery, the first in a series of LPs featuring a who's who of Chicago soul greats like guitarist Phil Upchurch, bassist Louis Satterfield, and drummer Morris Jennings. The caliber of his collaborators spurs Brown to new heights here. His keyboard solos are lean and sinuous, dynamic but never flashy. At the same time, however, Free Delivery is his most overtly commercial outing to date. Female choruses appear on roughly half of the tracks, and the arrangements are bright and polished

I am sorry, but I do not hear "Funk" in this selection, at least to my understanding of "FunK." I do know Jazz. In my opinion this does not sound like Jazz either. A nice sound though.

Thank you for posting. I am educating myself here. Perhaps someone can help me out relative to what "Jazz Funk" is. Ah, I am hearing something that sounds a bit like "Funk " on a guitar. The guitar is a bit faint, and late coming in though, relative to my opinion regarding the "Funk" and even the Jazz.
