@ggcage ...as simple as judeo-christian myth) and find out for yourself. Social animal behaviour is a well understood natural phenomenon.
"True religion" is an oxymoron, so I expect exactly nothing but confused ramblings of men ignorant of the nature of reality -and that's what you get when you open a book like the bible.

@ggcage ...tradition are fictional constructs of the human imagination and being such it would be absurd to say I am judging them(they are not real!). Moral behaviour is ingrained into our biology just as in the feeding frenzy, piranha do not devour each other. Social animals developed on this principal. I'm not here to relieve you of your ignorance on this; I suggest you take the time(I know you won't) to educate yourself on the womder of evolutionary biology(a huge umbrella term-it's not...

@ggcage I am speaking of the authors of the bible and I judge them as ignorant shepherds which is obvious by their works of fiction. That they have mixed in some historical settings is no more convincing than the real life settings of Oliver Twist. Get this straight, I judge the psychology of Dickens based upon his writtings(a very humanitarian one) just as I judge the psychology of the bible's authors(a perverted, power thirsty and sadistic one). Oliver Twist, like god of judeo-christian...

Part I
I see, but that doesnt prove anything. Christianity does change humanity for the better, but even if it didn't - even if every professing Christian was a psychopath, that would still have absolutely no affect on the validity of Christianity. Christianity stands or falls on whether or not there really was a man named Jesus about 2000 years ago who was God's Son and who died for our sin. If that is true, then Christianity is true, regardless of what "Christians" may do
Science is not a substitute for god. Science does what god can't, reveal the nature of the cosmos as it really is, not as wish hinking humans want it to be. God is fantasy, science is reality -so, there is no way science could replace god. Gandalf the Grey could replace god, their both works of human imagination, both patriarcs(Gandalf being the more benevolent), both have nothing to do with physical reality.

Nothing to do with physical reality?
I could go on about the evidence for God, but that is pretty much what my entire channel is devoted to. But I will say this: The Bible is loaded w/ prophecy. I have 2 links in my channel description that list hundreds of prophecies. Also, the apostles willingly died for their witness of Jesus' resurrection. They were w/ Him for 3 years. They shouldve known whether or not He was the Messiah.

Part II
"not as wishful thinking humans want it to be."
If God is the result of wishful thinking then why would people create a God who hates the sins they love to do? Why would they create a God who sends people to hell? You yourself say that God isn't benevolent, despite the fact that He was willing to bear the full, infinite penalty for your sin while He was on the cross. You really couldn't ask Him to something more benevolent. Please don't waste such a priceless gift.

@ggcage Part 1:Vague biblical prophecies impress me no more than the daily horoscope.
Part 2:The sadistic aspect of the judeo-christian god is a reflection of the psychology of the authors and the social zeitgeist when it was recorded.

@personEks I see, but if you say that the God of the Bible is "sadistic" you are judging God. But what standard do you judge God by? If there is no God then what is the standard by which you base morality? What makes something right or wrong? What is the difference between sadism and righteous indignation?
Also, what would you consider to be convincing evidence of a particular God / religion / holy book? What do you expect out of a true religion?

There's nothing that we can do today that will put Jesus in the grave. The validity of Christianity does not rest on what "Christians" do. It rests on the resurrection. Since it's a religion from God, it ought to be judged by what God (not man) does. I highly recommend you look at material by William Lane Craig. He has some very, very good material (books, a YouTube channel, and a website) on the resurrection. It's very interesting, and it might lead you to salvation
