Dr Norman Swan finds that their is very little evidence that cough medicines have much effect at all on the symptoms of cough, colds and bronchitis. Plus there are some risks for children taking these medications, particularly if you don't get the dose right. He offers some ideas for better ways to manage kids with colds and flu. Produced by GSB, Australian Broadcasting Corporation & NPS - Better Choices, Better Health. Be medicinewise.
