Good shot. You are right, they can run up to 100 yards even when shot through the heart.

gee's ran far enough, not a great shot in my book, i shoot a 6.5x55 and whatever i shoot be it a deer , bear or even a moose, it drops in its tracks.
I shot a 6 point whitetail buck last yr at 175 yrds with the 129 grain bullet, deer didnt know what hit it, collapsed right in its tracks

Doesn't look like it ran more than 20 yards to me....

WABUDDY2: You're an idiot. The chamois ran no more than 4-5 body lengths from where it was hit. If you had any real experience shooting game, you'd know that how far an animal runs after being hit has nothing to do with whether it was a "great shot" or not. Unless you breakdown the animal with a shoulder shot, etc, it can run a fair distance even though they are dead on their feet.
