www.PowerTripTheMovie.com Corruption, assassination and street rioting surround the story of chaotic post-Soviet transition told through culture clash, electricity disconnections and blackouts.
AES Corp., the american "global power company," now owns the privatized electric company in Tbilisi, capital of the former Soviet Republic of Georgia. They must train the formerly communist populace that, in this new world, customers pay for their electricity. The Georgians meanwhile, from pensioners to the Energy Minister, devise ever more cle ver ways to get it free.

  • "They must train the formerly communist populace that, in this new world, customers pay for their electricity. "

I can't even try to express my disgust at the ignorance, immaturity or more likely the utmost hypocrisy of this comment.

Regards to the author. I certainly hope this kind of corporate mercenary journalism is really worth it.

  • This is a very interesting movie, saw on public television a few years ago, and it has stuck with me ever since...

  • Just found this movie (on DVD) at the library.

It's a pretty good look at how the CIS states live. I wouldn't be surprised if this was Kazakhstan several years ago.

  • This is a great movie. I went to Georgia last summer for a month, and I fell in love with these people and this crazy but fantastic culture!!

Too much to say about this movie... but suffice to say that if Capitalism is the least

unfair system (not arguing here that it is or isn't), the Communist system was cruel

    beyond measure.

Still.... the people are wonderful and have survived for centuries, through worse times than this. LONG LIVE GEORGIA!!

  • Project "Sameba "(Produced by Vlad Zhukov) is made a great music!

  • thanks ,but i cant find the album anywhere, i'd buy it if i could find it!

  • 0:47 i ment!
