Anyone know if this recording of Don Giovanni is available in full? Like a Dvd or something like that?

@fabiorod91 He was terribly angry at his father, but also felt that hes responsible for his fathers death, so he turned him into a hellish figure that accused don giovanni (mozart) of killing him

@fabiorod91 I think you shouldn't see this seen like this. This opera was created in 1787, 2 years before the french Revolution, wich ended the monarchy. This end of Don giovanni is for me mostly an illustration of the will of freedom wich invaded european consciences at that time. Don Giovanni in the original story of Molina is scared of death. In here, as in Moliere's play, he is being brave, not scared of dying for his convictions... THat's what Mozart expresses, at least in my opinion.

It's the best version of Don Giovanni I ever saw. Just thanks so much for posting, it's absolutely amazing! Rod Gilfry is the bets Don Giovanni ever!

This is why I love Mozart. This is just some good stuff!!!!!!

Love it. Goosepimples arrive every time I listen to any version of this scene, starting at the music bump and the ghostly "DON GIOVANNI."

@fabiorod91 The plot of this part of the opera is that Don giovanni mocks the statue of his dead enemy, and invites it to dinner mockingly. When it comes, Don Giovanni offers him food, but he refuses, saying he eats but celestial food. He then says that because he came to the dinner, that DG must attend his. When he agrees, the statue tells him to repent, or suffer hell. Don Giovanni refuses, and screams to be let go. Then the statue introduces him to hell as he slips into it and is taken away.

What a cast!! I've always like R. G's singing. And L. Pol. Just how I think Leporello should sound! Thanks for posting!

That damn Hollywood, making everything more intriguing and epic.

lacks punch, diction, finesse, overly done but has a rare Comedy to movie-like aspect, ....he should pass the Ghost a good Starbucks, I guarantee, the commentatot will drink and say thanks, then contiue
what does this scene mean i know it has to do with the agony mozart felt when his father died, but it fact what is plot????

I think izs quite questionable that this has got to do anything with the death of Mozarts father..but anyway this scene is at the end of the opera, Don Giovanni in a good mood invited the statue of a man he killed before for a dinner and the statue actually came. Leporello is scared. the statue of commendatore wants that Don Giovanni repents of his lifestyle, but Don Giovanni refuses and is taken to hell.
