@deepblue1980 "Ballooning" is a term that usually refers to failure to keep the aircraft on the runway after the initial touchdown. Many cause, one result ---> An out of control landing. Some causes: Not taking all the power off. Too high a pitch rate on roundout. Gusts. Speed incorrect for AUW. Larger aircraft at very light weights influenced by ground effect to a much greater degree than puddle jumpers. Too low RoD often combined with low approach angle. Runway sloping away.
