Rick Tew, founder of NinjaGym Martial Science - Multi-Martial Arts and Fitness Camps is teaching a basic defense against a punch with a chain (kusari fundo, manrikigusare) and betl / rope.

Each technique to capture the wrist is slightly different with the first having the opponent punch int the loop and the second where you would triangulate, block and then wrap the wrist.

After locking up the wrist the body is dropped and the arm is broken at the elbow. This is also a controling move.

The take down and neck wrap are optional training add ons.

  • What would you do in winter, if he had 5cm thick jacket and gloves?

  • reminds me a lot of RBWI strap techniques

  • Ouch that looks painful. I will be very careful when trying this on my partner.
