Rain has expressed nothing but respect for Bruce Lee and other martial artists. He's also an extremely humble individual.
Regarding Ninjas being Japanese...the movie EXPLICITLY states that he's from Korea and kids were brought from all over the world for training. The promoted him as Korean...NEVER Japanese.
