@Fortetennis The Hop was from another place and time he grew up in the twenties in the outback. He has a minister for a father and his upbringing was rather simple and plain and sparse of human comforts. He did rule Austrailian tennis from 39- 69 with an iron fist.He pissed off many players with his brand of tough love.Rosewall being the most famous case. Most of the guys I knew like laver and Emmo loved the guy for being able to bring out the best in them.he had his moments with us I'll write soon
I used to be in love with the sport for years, but then I just burned out on it. :( That's cool that you worked for Hopman. He was a great coach, although I heard he was also kind of a jerk. I heard that if one of his players would leave him for a different coach that he would never speak to them again. Does this sound right?
@Cervicconstruction Wow. That's interesting. I will be bringing one board. My 6' 6" Point Concept hull. It's a sweet board, and I think it will serve me well at the bay if it's not too big.
@Fortetennis You have life by the balls my brother. Will you be taking several boards or just one?I remember this Skip Frye 8'6" gun that he had shaped for big Honolua and it sat in the G&S shop just up from P.B. for a whole summer cause it would have been useless. They had it for sale @ 40.00 it would be worth at least a grand if not more.It was beautiful man.The cat that ran the shop back then 72-73 ended up blowing his brains out at blacks a real tragedy he was a great guy.Oh well Merry xmas.
@Cervicconstruction Haha sick. I'm going there on in 9 days so stoked!!! I go there every year. Maui's the best place on Earth!!! Especially his place!
