The Semliki river of Virunga National Park was once home to literally thousands of hippos. A lengthy war and years of turmoil significantly reduced this population. The wildlifedirect ranger team, headed by Atamato, takes us on a trek down the river from Lake Edward to observe wildlife. Through the efforts of Atamato and his dedicated team, the hippos are returning and the local wildlife is doing much better. During the war years, over 100 rangers in Virunga park were killed protecting the wildlife from poaching and the ravages of war. Through direct donations, WildlifeDirect makes it possible for individuals to make small contributions that can really make a difference.Watch the video and share it with 20 friends. Make a donation. • @Sceli EAST OF KINSHASHA

  • Well I have been to Kenya and worked there - but I would so love to be here too - and see these amazing animals - naturally, in the wild - where they are meant to be, and to live safe from those who would harm and kill them ! The human animals is the most cruel of all !

  • East, close to the border with uganda and rwanda.

  • Which part of Congo is that? West from Kinschasa?
