I put my cat that I've has since I was 3, to sleep this monday, at the local veterinarians office. Me, my older brother, my mom and even my divorced dad came in to take a last goodbye with her. one of the last things i remember from my first dog bennie, before he died of cancer, was him trying to jump up on the couch to sit with me.

He was very ill, and even then, he was trying his hardest to jump up and cuddle with me, and was far to weak. I had to help him up, and that was it. That was the last time I actually petted my dog, we put him down the next day...

My heart is with you. I had to put my dog to sleep about two weeks ago. I had Rocky (who was a Yorkie) for 15 years. I cried and cried and cried. He got where every day was a struggle. He was my buddy.

@neuralres Honestly, I wouldn't feel that bad if I were you. My brother and I each had a cat when I was a kid, each de-clawed. His was too laid back to be bothered either way, but mine brought in mice, gophers, chipmunks, and even birds - it was crazy how good he still was at hunting. Plus, both of them got out of the house a ton and always made it back fine. Maybe it depends on where you live. But, I can tell you both of those cats lived long, happy, spoiled ass cat lives. They were fine.
