Crime Scene: Shoreline Amphitheater / Nine Inch Nails, Jane's Addiction= Stolen Police Car in ((HD))

May 22, 2009 / Mountain View California ~

At a Friday night music concert, the Shoreline Amphitheater was a sold out show for Nine Inch Nails and Jane's Addiction. But, just before the last performance had ended at 11:15 PM a fully marked and equipped Black & White Mountain View Police Cruiser was stolen off the street at the venue. An Amphitheater staff member reported seeing the vehicle driving up and down Shoreline Blvd. The employee believed there was only one suspect in the car at the time and thought that it might be a teenager or a young adult. But there is no detailed description of the suspect.

The police vehicle is marked with the number "3006" in gold letters in various places. It also has the MVPD Star logo on the sides and has the "Mountain View Police" written in gold across the back. The vehicle is equipped with full police radios, radar, Light bar, and a non-lethal shotgun which shoots bean-bags (the shotgun was locked in-place in the vehicle).

The Mountain View Police Department along with other agencies, including the San Jose Police Helicopter searched extensively for the police vehicle in until the fog closed in a few hours after the theft. But the ground search continued through to the next day....but, as of the date this report was written no trace of the patrol car has yet to be found.

UPDATE MAY 24,2009 13:35 HRS/PDT
The stolen police vehicle marked with the number "3006" was recovered today parked in a underground garage in an apartment complex located at 950 High School Way, in Mountain View. We googled the address and came up with the following: "Pat Daddy's House of Love‎" .

Total Distance: 3.0 miles

Responding officers found the vehicle parked unlocked in the underground garage. There was no damage to the vehicle and the shotgun appeared untouched. The keys of the vehicle are still missing. The vehicle will be fingerprinted and processed for and evidence.
