  • I've done the same thing but I found that coat hanger tends to rust and becomes too brittle with the changes in temp. Mine lasted about 5 uses. Replace the coat hanger with some stripped number 10 copper wire and it collapses down better as well.

  • Yes yes. Always look for ways to improve your gear. Awesome.

    I have gotten away from cooking over a fire due to the smut produced on the cookware. But by using one pot to boil the water in and the adding the water to other dishes you will only have ONE pot that needs the smut cleaned off. Good stuff.
