PPS: Throughout history, EVERYTIME a minority want equal rights as everyone else, the conservative Christians are those who come out the most vocally, politically and violently to try and stop this. They have been against MOST things that at the time were not favorable, but seem obvious today, like ending slavery, allowing woman to vote and get an education, allowing immigrants to relocate here, etc.

PS: There was a law written in Massachusetts that was originally written to state mixed couples married in other states would not be recognized. Mitt Romney used it when he became anti-gay, when the Gov. when entering the last presidential election, so those gays married outside the state would not be recognized in Massachusetts because they were not married there. And who still thinks gays and blacks have had similar bigotry thrown at them?

Conservative Christianity never supported letting black people live outside the role of "slave". They frequently used quotations from their bible to prove just how much their god believed this. Their heads almost blew off when blacks and whites started getting married. The horror. Its one thing to use a black slave for sex when u were a white slave owner and have a mulatto, but to actually publicly marry one.
