A visit to the Sperry - Iverson Gold Mine on the Mountain Loop Highway, east of Granite Falls, WA., in the Cascade foothills. A site that most tourists would miss because there are no markers, and yet it is one of the easiest landmarks to get to.

  • Thanks. Yeah, I did this in Jan. You've got some cool vids. I haven't been up to Monte Cristo in years, even though I've live close to Green Gables for years.... and I've never actually been in any mines. I didn't know there were any safe enough to go into up there.

  • I can believe that about the salting--because, really, this mine in not placed in an area that looks like any effort should be put forward to find gold. (The rocks are not mineralized for hard rock mining, and the river has very little placer gold at this elevation--there is more further down river). Thanks for your presentation!

  • Real nice job, I remember when this site was maintained, looks like it needs someTLC. keep up the good work.
