Almost everything you said is so true except that they did stand out, even back then. Truly original, their shit was apart from everything else :)

The diffrence between this music and todays so called "Hip hop"? This music will be remembered. You really think that 50 years from now, when people think about hip hop they're gonna be sayin "Yeah stupid hoe by niki minaj, those were the good ol' days.". FUCK no! Strictley 90's son. Sons of mischief, freesyle fellowship, ATCQ, pharcyde, digital planets, j dilla, Del, lords of the underground, and De la soul were the true hip hop artists. Long live the underground.

~ I agree with everything that you've stated there. BUT, there is no "revenue" because of the freeloading of MP3's.

Jesus... When was the last time something this original came out? To think that this type of creativity and innovation was so common in the early to mid '90s that Freestyle Fellowship didn't even really stand out. You'd think that with album sales dipping as much as they are that some company would say "instead of clinging so desperately to the same formulas that obviously are producing any revenue, let's try embracing a different approach and give something creative and original a shot".
