The BL WCAm 2 #21864 (newly painted)showing its power and takeing the 2010 ADI shatabdi express out of kankaria yard and enter roaringly and skiping the PF# 2 of maninagar railway station......
not a blast passing....................!!!!!!!!!

@SchweinsteigerKhan A single WCAM-2p is enough to hold not only this 16 coach train but also 24 coach train........It is might 4800 Hp loco......

@hsxtcqm well, if acceleration is not important for Indian railways, one locomotive would suffice.

btw according to me, the fact that the train's doors don't close during a journey is quite weird. seems safety is not a priority at all.

@SchweinsteigerKhan They can afford to have 2 locos, but I think that the track design limits the speed to 60 miles per hour with peak speeds of 80 mph. Though certain sections have been tested and perhaps cleared for 100 mph but those are rarely ideal everyday conditions. One of these locos is enough to serve the purpose and the second would probably be a waste of resources. Thank you for your question and hello from New Delhi, India.

@b897ful even if one locomotive is capable of pulling it, why not use 2 of em one at the front and one at the back so that the acceleration gets much much better..!! why do they always have to be slow..??

2 ASR shatabdi ,BPL shatabdi,ADI shatabdi ,MAS shatabdi ,LKO shatabdi are LHB shatabdi's in indian railway total 6 shatabdi are LHB's
