Throughout the world, music is one of the cornerstones of life and culture. From the poorest nations to the most prosperous, it is an integral part of ceremonies, celebrations and rituals.
The Montgomery College World Ensemble is a community music group which features everything from African percussion and reggae to Latin Jazz and Native American dance.
The group is dedicated to representing our rich diversity while serving the community through performances, programs and benefit concerts to help raise awareness about world issues. This year they are joining forces with the United Nations Water for Life project in helping to educate audiences about water safety and shortage issues throughout the world.
Hosts Fritzi Bodenheimer and Marcus Rosano talk to the groups director, a resident artist and student members of the ensemble about the project and their experiences performing with the group.
