Investigators in Shawnee said online video clips are now being considered evidence in some vandalism cases.

One video clip showed a young man using a firecracker tied to an aerosol can to set off an explosion in Shawnee.

Another clip showed graffiti being spray-painted at a skateboarding park in Johnson County.

Another video involved a break-in at a park in Lawrence.

"It's just not real bright to commit a crime and then post it on the Internet," Shawnee Officer Terry Kegin told KMBC's Maria Antonia.

Police said they have identified one person wanted for questioning, but that person is not in custody.

Police said the persons involved could face felony and federal charges.

Anyone with information in the case can call the Crime Stoppers TIPS hot line at 816-474-TIPS.
