Think of him as a post new left radical, Much of Parenti's case was built on the thinking of a student vanguard during the late 60's. Understand this linkage & it makes him all the more impressive because the movement he is part of was so prescient in anticipating what conditions in America would become. Son Christian has a book,LOCKDOWN AMERICA with the same kind of class analysis applied to US prisons. The Parentis represent a critical modus that stretches back to Herbert Marcuse and the 60's

Brilliant stuff, Michael Parenti has done so much to keep socialism alive in an often hostile environment and I agree that his perseverence and determination is nothing short of heroic.
