thanks giving is not a Christian holiday dipshit

The problem you will have here, is the shown by the multiple crises facing Christianity today... For one example, Christianity freely mixed with the State (threw her pearls to pigs) and allowed the State to govern marriage. Now that some states wish to re-define marriage according to secular standards, Christians are offended. Don't give the sacred to the secular and your religion will be just fine. There are many more examples just like this happening before our very eyes.

Gordon Robertson? He will never be like his father. To be honest, I like Gordon because of the things he says does make sense and is understandable. Pat on the other hand gets angry and never thinks twice before saying something controversial. Gordon really is right on the nose.

so why does Gordon always turn his head to the right on camera before he prays
-
He may be wrong about all manner of other things, but he is right about this one.

Thomas Jefferson was an elder of sorts in the Anglican Church before two members of his immediate family died. He wrote the statement about "separation of church and state" as a Christian. Also, it was in a letter, not a constitutionally recognized mandate. Furthermore, it was meant to protect the Church, not bind it into a box small enough not to offend others. The ACLU's interpretation is the one that is strange and unhistorical, not the Religious Rights'. In short, Robertson is right.

separation between state and religion, and the founders did intend this

The "strange interpretation" comes from Gordon Robertson. If he had his way, Christianity would be taught in the public classroom. The Religious Right has it all Wrong when it comes to the separation of church and state. One of the main reasons our country is so religious is because we have maintained the wall between religion and government. This means that no one religion can the "state" religion. The tyranny of one religion is oppressive to the freedom of religion.

I agree that world religion should be taught in school. Unfortunately, who would monitor a fair and equal presentation of religious ideas? In most school systems, the teachers are either Christian or have little understanding or appreciation of other religions. I could see where this would lead. Other religions could easily become "straw men" to be presented only as fodder for some Christian's cannon. I have witnessed first hand the out and out falsehoods taught about Judaism, for example.
Where is their ANGER over SANTA? Or how about The Easter Bunny? So A fucking Santa & bunny can replace God/Jesus? What frauds, hypocrites they helped put Bush in the White House, along with DIEBOLD elections systems & the stacked courts. Amazing..America, the free my ass!

Wonder if he would feel this way if it was a muslim congressional pastor or a class on Wicca in the school..bet he'd be saying the same thing these heathen are saying about the constitution and it being a need for seperation of church and state. It seems to only count when it is their religion in control.
