  • Stubby Kaye seems so in awe of Bert Lahr!

  • Put em up, put em up....

  • It's wonderful seeing him, such a funny funny man. He was a great actor and talented performer! His son John became a writer and drama critic and wrote "Notes On A Cowardly Lion", a great book that tells his father's life story. I'd recommend it to anyone. It's a beautiful moving tribute to Bert Lahr. He struggled and endured alot in his life and you'll appreciate even more how he rose above it and triumphed.

  • It's so strange, seeing these clips of WML. I'm instantly transported to my childhood...

I think I was born in Black and White!

  • @avdreader1 Actually that was on I've Got A Secret, the video is uploaded on Youtube.

  • I saw a what's my line where they had the last living witness to the LINCOLN assassination! I will never forget it.

  • So fun to see Bert Lahr outside "The Wizard of Oz" and the Lay's potato chip commercials. Thank you for posting.

  • like there is no better way to answer the question than trying to change the voice and actually say "yes" or "no"...

  • Such a brilliant concept for a show. They should revive it along with "To Tell the Truth". Though I suppose getting the "tone" right would be hard.

  • @cleancab Lahr, in his day, was considered to be just about the best comic actor on Broadway so, in my opinion, he was very well cast as The Cowardly Lion.

Indeed, he was even given "two spots" in "The Wizard of Oz" (the 2nd was "If I Were King Of The Forest") while Bolger and Haley each only had one.
