This is the second of three tornadoes I bared whiteness to on Wednesday, June 10th while finishing up a 4 day chase vacation that.... until this point.... had been rife with disappointment and mechanical issues. I started my day off in Independance, KS and headed for Oklahoma when as I crossed into the state I had a change of mind and relocated my target to Pittsburgh, KS where I sat until watching the explosive development of towers off to my north which I raced up Hwy71 in West Missouri to get to in Vernon County where I ran into a storm that had a great wall cloud and motion in it on the west side of the road. I pulled over to film it for a brief bit when all of a sudden over my shoulder and off to my east I noticed a needle like funnel drop down and touch down. I raced to get into position to film it but never could in time but was able to at least film this tornado while trying to play catch up with the storms. All in all for a day I didn't have much hope for I can say I was thoroughly pleased. The best part too was all the tornadoes happened over open fields and only caused minor tree damage to a small grove in the country.

  • God this like so much fun! I live in Missouri btw

  • I miss those days in missouri. Almost every week in missouri you get a wake up call from the tv, the radio, or a friend down the street saying there's a tornado on the way keep your eyes open.

  • Incredible. I'm actually going to school in the fall to begin studying to become a meteorologist and all I've ever wanted to be was a storm chaser. People like you just inspire me all the more..that may be far off, but it's still beautiful and awe inspiring.

  • wow! thats incredible!

    love you <3

  • This video gives me alot of info on where it actually went through, i've been trying to pin point it's path for a week, with little success, due to the minimal amount of damage, as well as equivilant down draft damage in the surrounding area. I was shooting four miles straight south of the stand pipe water tower at the beginning of the video. keep up the good work and I wish I could join u guys out there.

  • lol I had no clue there is an Independence KS lol

  • Man! I'm from SW Missouri, this was right in my neighborhood! I was also in Independence on this day, and headed out at about 4 or 5pm, but instead just waited on the later storm cells to show up in SE KS. Wish I could have seen this one. Nice!
