After harvesting the wheat they burn what's left in the fields. The fires may not be very big, but the smoke plumes are huge, dense and can be seen for miles! How'd you like this outside your front door??? 9-)

  • when i first saw this- well my mom and i with my cousins just got back from california and there's a huge 14,000 acre fire there and so i thought this was it. that's awesome and kinda cool how they do that.

  • They use a truck that ignites the fields in a controlled burn to get rid of the remaining wheat stalks. I think its to put more nutrients back into the soil but im not sure.

  • They're better at burning wheat fields than someone is at keeping the camera still.

  • mainly have to burn the straw to get rid of it, its hard to disk up with all that straw. it also is good for the soil, and yes we know what we are doing.
