i love angela, im so glad she just let toni know, okay now i'm trying to talk! they invited me to converse with you, not to sit and listen to you for an hour. she always stands up for herself, never lets no one step all over her, i truly love this woman.
I've returned to this conversation several times over the past couple of years (even the initial post in multiple parts) but it never fails to fascinate - and stimulate. Thanks again.
Toni Morrison (By now I think she should be called Son Excellence Toni Morrison )has such a way with words on paper and when she talks that I am always mesmerized and I catch myself taking notes of the beautiful things she says like: "they were replacing the slaves like coals in the fire" wow
From Frederic Douglass, the great abolitionist black lion to Soul Sisters Toni Morrison and Angela Davis...What an odyssey on the long road of freedom and human dignity!
The amazing Douglass captured the spirit of the journey quite early on saying..
'...Find out just what any people will quietly submit to and you have found out the exact measure of injustice and wrong which will be imposed upon them: and these will continue until they are resisted with either words or blows, or with both...'
