A crown vic police interceptor has a 4.6 in it but I think it's the same engine as a Mustang GT.

@pearldrumsarecool The crown vic has a 260HP 4.6L 2V SOHC. The Mustang is a 310HP 4.6L 3V SOHC

Wow the gearing really can help an engine. Our Sequoia 4.7 4 speed auto is geared nearly perfectly to that v8. Helped it pull 0-60 in mearly 7.8 seconds. Not bad for a huge suv with only 240 horses!

My Mom has a Denali and it has some balls, you wouldn't expect it out of an SUV, or at least I didn't. It does have a Corvette engine basically though, the 5.7L V8 :D

check for a stretched throttle cable, that could be holding it back

Along with the 3 inch flowmaster 40 single side pipe. I did all this stuff to my truck for less than $200.

I also always used premium fuel after the intake and exhaust due to the fact my cpu was stock and the intake makes it run slightly leaner than optimal. 91-93 octane fuel keeps it from detonation under hard load, something 4.6 fords are succeptable to. I did all this stuff to my 04 f150 4.6 and it was very noticable quicker.
