  • Hey steelo! I have a quick question would a 250w metal halide light be a over kill for a 20 gallon long tank if so, would a 150w hang on metal halide be fine? Thanks:).

  • @mannny37 I would say yes. A 150w would be a lot better, but before you go this route, be sure to visit my video "Reef Aqarium Lighting" ti learn more on this subject and the fact that you will benefit from having a chiller. Good luck.

  • @newyorksteelo Thanks! If I decide to get that hang on light do you think it will light up the whole tank since its a 20 gallon long?

  • @mannny37 It should illuminate the entire tank, but most of the intensity will be focused on the center.

  • I like your videos man lots of good info., Ive got a suggestion for you though,., Instead of using zip ties use velcro,., I am a hometheater tech. and use velcro strips for all of my wire management., It holds just as tight as the zip ties and they dont have to be cut off if you need to take something out of the bundle or add something new., I buy it in 1/2" wide rolls and split it down the middle to make 1/4" strips., cut to the length you want with scissors and wrap it up.,

  • @mohawk1069 Awesome info. Sounds like this can work out quite well. Will keep this one in mind for sure. Thanks you for the comment, suggestion and for watching my videos.

  • @mohawk1069... I think your Velcro idea is great. Especially for a new Reefer such as myself. I'm no penny pincher but it always chafes me a bit when I have to cut zip ties. Plus, since I'm new to this I'm always looking for ways to improve.

  • @saad5990 Good luck and enjoy!

  • @newyorksteelo yeaa me coming to NY this summer ;) gota learn lot of stuff :)

  • @saad5990 Haaaaa, lol Thanks, I guess its a NY thing :)
