Well this is not a game from the 1990s but it has that old school platforming feel and I like it. :)

This is Curious George, a 2D platformer for the Game Boy Advance hand held console. Developed by Torus Games and published by Namco, released in year 2006. Guide Curious George through a variety of adventure packed levels based on the Universal Pictures animated film. Explore, solve puzzles, collect items and above all be curious! Meet and greet your favorite movie characters, unlock special mini games and more. He is a curious little monkey with an insatiable taste for adventure. George follows the Man with the Yellow Hat back to the big city where his spunky and fun loving nature endears him to new friends he meets along the way and lands him in a series of mis-adventures.

  • Notice the power is off. We can play this with out using batteries bye having it turned off? Sweet. But as much as I passionately hate Curios George this reminds me of games like the banjo-kazooie series so i might have to find this. I was going to give it to my sister but I might keep it.

  • @euphoniumification The power LED is broken.

  • Looks like a fun little game for your GBA.

  • I had a Game Boy Advance years ago. The only console I have now is the Genesis. The pic of the GBA in this video is for demonstration purposes only.

  • great video man!

  • PIRATE GBA!!

  • @narox that sucks. Oh well, using some battery life is alright considering I enjoyed games like donkey kong and banjo series. I got this from a friend and I might have left it with him. I shall check.

  • i dont like ads for gba showing the gba with a really bright screen

  • Huh! Who would've guessed that it was this cool of a game? I have almost 200 GBA games (both Japan & U.S.), but NONE of them are games based on other franchises (because they 99% of the time SUCK - I'm biased, but it's based on experience). But I might just have to pick this game up...I love 2D platformers, and this kinda reminds me if there was a mix between DK Country & Toki: Going Ape Spit!

  • Well there are two devices which have a screen that good. One is 2nd edition of GBA SP. First SP had a frontlit ISTN screen, 2nd had a backlit TFT screen.

And another device is a chinese GBA clone "designer handheld" with a TFT screen released a month ago. It has a hardware mask copy, it's not an emulator! However, i think they got the screen retrace wrong when they modified the output circuit for their display *sigh*.

  • Nice composit, but i think you got the aspect ratio of the display slightly wrong. GBA has a semi-widescreen 3:2 display with square pixels, and you stretch it to 4:3, making it slightly taller than it should be.

  • Ah i see yeah i used to have one too a few years back as well.
