Most people stopped using GearScore when patch 4.0.1 came out because the default interface showed the average item level of your gear... which is what GS was originally intended to help you determine. The author renamed it to PlayerScore and made VAST improvements on it... Unfortunately, those changes (mcapps1 mentioned them below) came way too late, and that's what ruined a lot of peoples' experiences in WotLK. Despite the whole GS fiasco, WotLK was my most favorite expansion.

Thats why I use playerscore instead when I have to grab a pug. It factors in all the stuff GS doesn't, and not enough people use it to turn into a PS whore. At least in my expieriences.

I agree i know how you feel though i am no gearstore whore i always work on getting gems but it takes me a while cuz i am broooke but i do what i can for being all ruthless er almost all ruthless i am working on a PvE set though

This video is outdated...GS now counts GEMS and ENCHANTS and PROPER GEAR FOR YOUR SPEC, it knows if you're wearing PVP, TANK, DPS or HEALING gear. And it adjusts the score appropriately. Gear Score is leagues ahead of Blizzards iLvL system. Do a video crying about that TC.
