  • I dig this man! The most under appreciated and misunderstood concept in music is the concept of what it means to swing. I would recommend that if you wish to incorporate more jazz-styled chords into your repotoire that you listen to jazz organists and just think more in terms of expanded intervals in your chording (i.e.stacked fourths, color tones, polychords, expanded harmony stuff like that)

  • @isaiahangelo You know, I've been appreciating your videos and stylistic approach for more than a year now. So, your recommendation is well-received. I've been listening to more jazz organists as of late. I'm a horn player (trumpet and F-horn). So, I am now learning how to express myself through the keys and incorporating various techniques. Thanks for commenting, isaiahangelo. I appreciate it.

  • you say you are not a jazz musician I am and I know one when I hear one need I say any more lol Sound great.

  • @gospelmussician2010 LOL...obviously, I have a true appreciation for jazz and blues. However, I maintain that I am not a jazz musician (smile). To God be the glory for this gift that I attempt using from time-to-time. Be blessed in Jesus' name, gospelmusician2010.

  • Nice arrangement/version. However what was wrong with the original arrangement/ version..You shouldn't mess with perfection.

  • @cover887 Thanks for commenting. You know, there is absolutely nothing wrong with the hymn as it is written originally. Musicians "hear" variations, which I think is part of the creative spirit within us. Changing the musical arrangement is altogether different from changing the words, which then changes the message.

Listen to Gerald Wolfe's presentation of the same hymn. This is what I grew up singing, and it's simply BEAUTIFUL.
