Nitro Night 2009

This is an up close opportunity for you to see some of the greatest vintage drag cars around. Escondido's "Cruisin' Grand" happens every Friday throughout the summer and on one night a year they hold a very special event called, "Nitro Night." Some of golden age drag racing's finest nitro cars and stars, roll into town for this evening where Broadway and Grand Avenue in Escondido California is blocked off for the nitro cars to perform. All drivelines are disconnected in the cars for safety, but with the use of period correct push cars, the old racers are fired up then slowly pushed before the crowd, belching nitro flames all the while. And the best thing about it is, it's free to the public. So if you can't get to the track and you live in the area, why not round up your friends and family and come on down to witness one of the truly great street events in the country.
