I'm wondering how wise to deal is. If it significantly reduces the flow of drugs smuggling and illegal aliens it could be worth it. However I wonder if it's really wise to hand over such advanced technology. If the drug smugglers and coyotes were to somehow get an inside man in the system or somehow else access the information or technology, it could be used to evade capture. My other fear is that some of this hardware and technology has the ability to be used militarily and for espionage to some extent.

  • louis12346: I wouldn't be surprised if you are correct. I think you could be helpful or harmful. I think it's well-intentioned on the part of the US, however I fear it might be counterproductive as you suggest. I wouldn't be surprised if some of the technology and money ends up in the hands of smugglers and subversives.
