  • and a lot of those soy crops are for animal feed anyway - not for direct human consumption.

  • uh, it takes 8kg of grains to get 1kg of meat. I dont eat meat substitutes, but growing grains as your main food is efficient. thats why NGO's always donate grains. its cheap and feeds almost everyone in africa. I prefer if kids feast on corn and soy.

and I thought vitamin B12 comes from bacterias. I dont use other supplements except this. a nutritionist said fruits should give enough vitamins. and mining for any resource is destructive anyway.

  • GreenpeaceUK doesn't care about nature or whatever is greene. It's an organization that is against development of nations and it's funded by big corporations from Europe and the US. GreenepeaceUK does NOT pay any taxes since it's a bogus NGO. Do your homework yourself before you believe every word what Greenpeace said. Also question why the original founder of greenpeace, left. Hint, it didn't stick to the real agenda and to much government and corporation interference.

  • ....is causing at the same time the increasing of the inflation rate in Brazil...the problem isn't as simple as it seems...that's why nobody has found any solution yet.

  • @Cozzi0 the problem is,what kind of solution would you give the small scale farmers whose lands where taken by the owners of bigger plantations?e.g. in the case of Brazil,on the one hand ethanol made of sugarcane has improved the economy, besides it has even reduced the CO2 emissions, but on the other hand it's exactly the reason why small scale farmers have to go find other territories to continue planting their crops or for cattle ranching, and that's how they get into the rainforest and this...

  • @amazingdany regenerating????? I can't believe you actually think the Amazon can regenerate itself!!! do you even know anything about the topic? A tropical rainforest can't regenerate, besides the soil of a rainforest is known by not being able to retain nutrients...which means once it is gone, it's gone forever together with millions of unique plants and animal species!!!! I know this is a double edged sword but that doesn't give you any right to spread lies!

  • does any1 hav a video tht helps?

  • MMMMMM. Just finished a can of rainforest corned beef hash and it was delicious!

  • @carbonandchemicals Well according to researchers Marc Morano and Kent Washburn of the American Investigator, a T.V. news magazine, the facts about the rainforest can't be seen through all the emotion-driven trees surrounding them.

Landsat data indicate that 87.5 percent of the forest is still intact. Of the 12.5 percent that is deforested, one-third to one-half is in the process of regeneration, meaning that up to 94 percent of the Amazon rainforest is left to nature.

  • @amazingdany What the hell? Where did you pull that figure from, your ass? The Amazonian rain forest has nearly been half way destroyed, if not more. An nothing is being done to ensure that such deforestation doesn't continue in it's upward trend - which it is. Please check your facts, because they are severely inaccurate.

  • @amazingdany whew, so that's ok then - we can carry on with business as usual and cheerfully wrecking the most biodiverse habitat on the planet. I was beginning to get worried by huge weight of evidence which points in entirely the opposite direction. Thanks for setting my mind at rest!
