Vaccinate or Lose Benefits!

The Australian media has recently been informing parents that they will lose tax benefits unless their children are fully up-to-date with the immunization schedule. yet, vaccination is said to not be mandatory in Australia, so how can this be? Is this just a clever way for the government to work around the law to force people to vaccinate their kids?

Now I have some issue with the wording. You're not forced to take the vaccine, you can just not take the benefit.

@Visfen I don't find it incomprehensible at all. It clearly says your child is considered immunized if you have refused the vaccine and have a note signed by a practitioner stating that s/he informed you of the risks/benefits and that you have decided not to give your child the vaccine. That qualifies them as IMMUNIZED under this law.

I bet it comes from a religious mentality, How could god fail and inflict misery on children that has almost entirely been eliminated by scientists.??How could "sinners" provide the answer to our problems when it should be god who has the answers and should protect us? Why should kids lives and health be put at risk because some parents are paranoid and havent looked at the statistics which clearly show a huge benefit to humanity from vaccinations. Its not even close, vaccinations have transformed humanity.
