@WABCRADIO77 That would be correct. Paul's last single to be released with an Apple label was "Junior's Farm" b/w "Sally G" in late 1974. That single fulfilled his obligation under The Beatles deal with EMI that ran from 1967 to 1975. Paul signed a new contract with EMI in the UK and Capitol in the US in early 1975. "Listen To What The Man Said" and "Venus And Mars" were the first releases under his new deal. John, George, and Ringo all had their final records on Apple released the same year.

McCartney was on Capitol, switched to CBS in 1979.

I like your turntable. What brand is it?

@51512601 I also have the mono set some believe that it's the only way to hear those albums the mono mixes were the only one the Beatles themselves were in on !

thanks very much

That was Paul McCartney's fourth #1 hit and the ninth by any member of the Beatles since the group disbanded in 1970.

'the wonder of it all, baby!" Aah, back when music was still music! I used to own a copy of Venus and Mars once, when I had a record player still. Thanks so much for uploading these 45's...They're a slice of heavenly nostalgia!

I have that Mono Box set and it sounds great. Even if you prefer the stereo versions, you should get it anyway just to hear how their songs were really meant to sound at the time. By the way, lest anyone missed the point, the two dots at the right side of the label represent Venus and Mars, the name of the album from which the single was taken.

I'm guessing Paul McCartney and Wings had their 70's singles released on custom Capitol labels..I have a "Silly Love Songs" 45 that has a custom Wings At The Spped Of Sound label as well as this black Capitol label.
was this song also on the Apple Records label?

Not that I know of.
It was only on Capitol from what I've seen.
Shown are both the Promotional Copy and the normal standard commercial release. I play the promo copy.
