After my back surgery I became addicted to morphine, which eventually had led me to heroin! I was on heroin for almost three years!!! One day I was asked to choose between the two: the greatest love of my life and heroin! I chose love! It was the worst experience in my life getting off of heroin, but I did it without any medication like methadone. The first 2 weeks were a complete hell for me, but I made it through! And being clean for almost 10 years I can tell that it's possible to do it!!!

smoking canabis with methadone really helps the pain. this way you only have to use less addictive narcotic,versus, no canabis and more and more methadone until your up to 70mg. a day and it's no longer helping like it once did. I even found this info in an older pdr,that canabis intensifies the pain killing of the methadone.And from personal experiance (aledgedly).

IM on 120 mgs per day of mrthadone. One evening I had a kidney stone attack and at the hospital I told them I was on methadone and how much. None the less the pain from my kidney stones were agonizing. They gave me a 4mg shot of diladid. It killed the pain and allowed me to pass the stone with no problem. I had no negative side effects. IM not doubting anyone else, just sharing my experience.

you kept mentioning the gastinal tract but never mentioned any side effects. what can it do to that???

i have been on methadone for 6 years now. 3 of those years at a methadone clinic. i suggest that anybody with a heroin addiction or opiate addiction find your nearest methadone clinic . your life will change for the good!

@staphinfection te imodium is actually a opiate but dosent cross the blood brain barrier does that mean you can inject them? and it will mess you up?

@ramco69 i agree completely about weed helping with pain i have a ruptured disk in my back was on oxys 4 6 years. have been on methadone 4 going on 3 years. i'm on 160mgs of methadone and i'm a canabis smoker and when i smoke regularly i can get through the day with only taking 80to 100mgs a day dependind on how i feel and how much pain i'm in.. but it helps my pain a lot...

@TheFresh1212 Hey, I have been struggling with methadone(& other opiate) addiction for over 8 years, and this is what works for me:

Every month I have to detox(not by choice), and this is what works for me over the counter: LOPERAMIDE aka Immodium AD. Make sure you get the liquid stuff though. It seriously helps with methadone withdrawals.

Suboxone for me actually made me terribly ill because I'm an idiot and did not heed the warnings. DO NOT TAKE SUBOXONE WHILE METHADONE IS IN YOUR SYSTEM!!

Just want to point out that in opiate naive individuals, either of these potent narcotics alone can kill you.

I however am opiate tolerant and HAVE mixed methadone with dilaudid, and was totally fine. In fact, although there was slight euphoria from the dilaudid, the methadone seemed to block and over power it so for me it seemed like a total waste of both. HOWEVER, I AM A DIFFERENT HUMAN BEING THAN YOU, so your results might end up in the toilet, or the grave. Please be safe out there. Thanks!
