http://www.coolmom.com || I was pregnant when I taped this, but this issue has not died. How can I make my daughter understand the difference between laughing with and laughing at? And furthermore what strength it gives you when people can laugh at you? Not in a belittling way but in a "There is nothing you can say that hurts me because I am already aware of my shortcomings" way, which is the inner voice of all comics.
Well, she is only 3.
shes going to smoke drugs and be a whore or stripper because you were a loser in highschool and want to be cool now instead of being a real parent.

When my son was little , he used to cry when he passed gas because he was so embaressed. I told him,"Your gonna have to get over that cause we are a gassey bunch." With red eyes and runny nose he started laughing." It was so cute..... You probably had to be there.

Yeh! My kids hate to be laughed at unless they`re trying to be being funny. If they`re not they`re so indignant!

most people who go through that whole 'you're laughing at me' stage as children usually just need better reassurance and an extra self-esteem boost, cuz alot of times, even if they grow out of it, they tend to be a little more insecure when they get older. its a security issue.

yep, your kids gonna be in a gang and have a bunch of tattoos up both arms and legs =) nah, it's kind of normal, my cousins use to do it, my brother did for a short time, i did for a short time too... she'll grow out of it ;-) it's life skills that kids pick up along the way, i'd tell you a story about it but there's a comment limit, haha

lol! I don't know how old your kid is, but my baby cousins do that too. If you laugh, sometimes they get sad because they think you are laughing at them. And I was like that when I was a child at times. I think it is normal. But we are Nigerian and I suppose it is so normal that we automatically know to say "Don't worry, baby, she is not laughing at you, okay?"

LOL Don't feel bad, Will Smith's little boy was sent home a note saying he couldn't rime. Will said for a rapper that made him feel bad.
