In early February, 2011 a major winter storm pounded the Midwestern United States. Its effects snarled air, road, and rail traffic delaying Amtrak train PO50 by nearly 15 hours. I caught him on February 2nd crossing North Bend Road in Carthage, Ohio, a suburb of Cincinnati. Shortly after the crossing gates dropped, a car ran around them with a second vehicle close behind. Fortunately, the second driver made the right call and waited 30 seconds for the six-car train to pass.

  • their was a second dumb ass that was going to try go around the gates before as amtrak was blowing through the crossing.

  • Dumbass

  • Lunatic's taking their chances...

  • WOW! Epic!

  • @cincyvato But whatever you do,don't go under the gates.

  • I hate getting stopped by those long, slow freight trains in Carthage.

  • I caught the same train in Glendale, Ohio - (Amtrak 50 The Cardinal at Glendale, Ohio) . The drivers in Glendale took a moment and waited for the train. They must not be conditioned to long slow trains like the drivers in Carthage.
