shipping to azeroth and entering this zone to get to ironforge with your mount or afoot.. in my opinion the huge world and your small character in it made old wow to that what it was

I met my fellow night elf friend back in Ashenvale around lvl14, later; having gotten many more levels it was time to leave. He told me I needed to learn swords but I would have to go the Iron Forge to do so.

Not knowing how to get there he guided me to the boat and our long trek began. We arrived at Menethil Harbor... it was quite different than the large forest and mountainous regions we were used to.

The journey to Iron Forge was long and dangerous, but we made it and I never looked back.

@DruzzillandRo A great story that brings memories back! I have a similar story since my first character also was a night elf and he went to Wetlands to start the long trip to Ironforge. Those were the days.

I remember this was the first zone I'd had to run through to get from Menethil Harbor to Ironforge... Mt main was a Night elf, so many alligators. D:

first time i got into wetlands, i thought i got killed by mobs but it turned out after a few hours on my first char wich was a night elf hunter. I was being ganked a few times by a tier 1 warrior tank.

I had no clue what it was. And after asking in the chat i got told it was another player.

Okay, I remember very faintly of when I started playing back in '06. I was saying how I wanted to go to Stormwind, and that I wanted to quest elsewhere from the night-elf regions. Sure enough, me being the noob asking everyone if they could help, a high level guy had me follow him through the marsh.

It scared the living shit out of me the first time a crocodile would charged at me. Even though it was one of my first venturing experiences.

I remember when i wanted to go to Ironforge at level10, so I knew that I had to cross Wetlands. I was always trying to avoid the orcs and the crocodiles. It was an awesome feeling when I finally got there! Just awesome.

I never forget running trough wetlands to reach our outposts in the badlands (orc)...have to pass all those alliance and was really impressed by the tunnels the dwarfs made there (passage to loch modan)....after long run finally reached kargath. Later I came back to wetlands to farm the red dragons near grim batol for their scales....that was some time ago :)

I miss when I ran from Menethil Harbor to Ironforge with my Nelf... I got attacked so many times, but I somehow managed to escape. o.o

having all those flightpaths available now ruined the game a bit. Now ppl dont have to explore anymore or actually die on a few normal mobs... thy fly from town to twon and kill all mobs in 2 blows. Then they hit 85 and noob around in dungeons and raids because they never learned to play properly
