I always use distilled water to humidify my gibson acoustics. no sense in having all the crap that's in the tap water sucked into the wood of the guitar. After awhile the guitar likely will start smelling like chlorine and god knows what. No way I'd put an open container of water inside or near any of my guitars. Either make or buy the humidfiers , less chance of a spill.
Don't over humidify, that's just as damaging to a guitar. hide glue is not waterproof.

you should make a video about acoustic guitar strings and the rust/tarnish

No I mean like the model number or something.

I used a sponge too. I squeezed it pretty dry then put it in a cheese cloth bag to keep the moisture away from direct wood contact. It took several applications over about a week to rehumidify my Takamine but it worked pretty good. Slow is the way to go. Too fast and the wood distorts. The whole instrument needs to be rehumidified equally. You can't do that fast. Softer woods absorb moisture faster than hardwoods.

Wow, you think everyone will have plaid professionally? There's non-serious players. Does knotting it even work?
Can anyone tell me what kind of guitar that is. I really want one of those.

i saw a technique were you do the same thing with the bowl of water in the sounds hole only you put a balloon to seal the hole and you put a little tension on the balloon with string will this work as well

I use small plastic sandwich boxes where I drilled some holes in the top and cut out a sponge to fill out the whole interior of the box. Not as efficient as the open water jar but more safe if you forget about it , take out the guitar and tilt the open jar
