My MacBook just started to make this noise. I opened it, I checked and cleaned the fan but the noise still remains. What do you think? I need to replace the fan? Thank for the help

  • I have the same exact problem. Can someone post a fix to this?

  • @Devigili22

To fix this problem a new fan is needed...

  • and people say mac is better than windows... >_>

  • I solved the problem with five dollars: I don't care about my macbook, I leave it everywhere and it still works (I have had three pc noteboook and they stopped working after one year of working). My macbook is three years aged and still works perfectly so my experience is positive.

  • I replaced it buying a replacement fan on ebay and now is all working well

  • contact apple

  • the macbook is 2 years old..... do i have a possibility that they will repair it for free?

  • @subtenko because it is? i've gone through so many windows laptops -_- but my mac has lasted me 4 years already with no problems at all except the fan after having it for 4 years.

  • @xGURICAx believe me, I opened up most of my macs (this kind of macbook white, and 2010 macbook pro) to change the ram, upgrade with my own hdd and when I got problem with my keyboard, they changed the whole topcase for free.

Well I swap to the standard hdd and ram just in case, but point is they won't know, unlike other manufacturer they don't stick any "warranty void if seal is broken" sticker on each screw.

  • @xGURICAx Thanks mate, I'm gonna pop to the Apple store and let them sort it out for me, just annoying as my nearest store is about 40 miles from me lol. Cheers dude!

  • @LostSoul887 I believe you void the warranty if you even see the inside of ur mac lol. You need have it sent in and replaced. Def should be under warranty. Goodluck

  • yeah these little machines are tanks! Mine still kicking after long time. My brothers had been eaten by two rottweilers lol and still runs mint!!

  • Is your MacBook the unibody? Mine's started making a noise and it's only 6 months old :( What should I do? Would it void my warranty if I replaced it myself?

  • That's a sound of a broken bearing. I just ordered a replacement fan this morning.

  • needs a nre fan

  • I have the same darn problem and I think it's because of dust...

  • @pioneerz450 well yea I know yall mainly say its software or what it can do but still, Im seen windows machines do what macs can do and some even better. really the line has blurred between the two for the most part at least. Macs shouldn't be as expensive as they are.
