Hey there Leigh,
I think you may very well have hit the nail on the head; the riots ae indeed very much still quite prominent in the cultural memory, which is, to a degree, lending legitimacy to what is essentially un provoked, authoritarian brutality in the face of legitimate, quiet protest. And yes; it's so much easier when you're fighting academics, poets, and artists, isn't it? People who generally tend to talk before they start throwing punches. It's abominable.

Maybe that was a little bit harsh; they do by and large, comport themselves well as an organisation, but I find their lack of time given to this issue rather criminal. As for what I think of American news networks...well, that's a subject for a video, I think :)

If you think the BBC is a waste of space....geez, hate to think what you think about American news;)

-es that they could not employ because a. media coverage and b. poor kids from the estates were dangerous so they are instead beating up on liberal arts students, teachers and humanitarians who are in general , quite easy to hit with a baton without fear of being hit back.?
our media is constantly portraying any protesters are socialist kids living on dole checks with no jobs who don't understand the real world. It is tremendously frusterating

sad times indeed, here in Australia we are having similar responses from the police. Protestors who stood arms locked behind their backs in a peaceful display were told by police that arms behind backs could hide weapons and thus is a act of potential aggression so they were charged and general whacked a lot.
Do you think that in the uk a lot of the police feel they maybe have a violent madate post riots? that perhaps they are taking out all the aggression they had for poor kids from the estat-
will do,captain. our world is becoming one hell of a mess,a revolution is on our doorstep.

I love getting a shout-out in a vid of this type, though it made an awkward transition :)
Right on man, glad to see you're plugged into this thing. Since media is entirely corporate, outlets such as this become necessary to speak truth to power. The more eyeballs on these protests, the less likely it is to go the wrong way.

XD I do apologise for that; I was going to wait until I do another TF review, but I have no idea when that paticular muse will strike again at the moment. It's very important at this point for media such as the BBC which is publically owned to function as the people's voice; the fact that it's failing to is criminal, to my mind.

Generally, no, but they'll find an excuse to break out the guns if those in power deem it necessary.
